“Plant lovers” air purifying house plants

We all know that growing plants inside your home can bring beauty, energy, and life into any living space. I’ve been researching the benefits of having house plants in your home due to our poor air quality from odours, moulds, and chemicals that can effect your breathing which can have a variety of bad effects on your health.
I have found four plants that have air purifying benefits and help with relaxation, meaning it can lead to a healthier sleeping pattern and you’re all round health. It’s amazing how beneficial they can be to the surroundings we live in.

Aloe Vera

b31bb0913904acb856e8b7a58d25a561 I’m a huge fan of Aloe plants (having six dotted around the house) I’m always using aloe for my skin (even on the dog skin) and the plus side is there super easy to care for, needing minimum water. It’s among the most powerful plant air purifiers in the world! It helps clear chemicals like benzene and formaldehyde from the air; it also lowers carbon dioxide levels at night. Its rare ability to absorb C02 levels in the dark makes aloe a wonderful bedroom companion that can help you get a more refreshing sleep.

Areca Palm

NASA tested 50 plants for their ability to filter the air around us, ease of care, and the ability to add moisture to the surrounding atmosphere. The Areca Palm can purify benzene, formaldehyde and trichloroethylene from the air. It’s also a very effective air humidifier.

Snake Plant

The Snake Plant is another of my favourites. Studies show that the Snake Plant can reduce respiratory symptoms, eye irritation, and headaches, while also reducing the need for ventilation.

English Ivy

The English Ivy is the number one best air purifying houseplant because it is the most efficient plant to absorb formaldehyde. Its leaves can improve symptoms of allergies and asthma. These look great in a hanging basket, after reading how amazing the benefits are I’m off to get myself my own English Ivy!
