Two weeks ago I went to a private event/evening in Devon about facial aesthetics, hosted by the lovely Jenny Gifford at the Queen Annes Dental Practice. The reasons I went is because I have always thought and said I would never have anything done (non-surgical treatments, or surgical for that matter) buttt I would be interested to see what is involved, how the treatments work and how safe they are for you, as I like to be conscious about the things we put into our bodies. Jenny packed the evening full of info lots of which was great to no and learn, all about how Botox and fillers work, Jenny is super helpful and honest.
There was the opportunity to receive a £300 gift voucher (which I have) this and learning about how the facial aesthetics work knowing that it’s all had extensive testing to ensure safety and efficiency are clinically proven. I thought I would use my gift voucher to have some lip filler. My lips are a “normal” size not to big and not to small, my top lip is quite thin (to be picky) and is thinner on one side this has never been a problem for me but with the voucher I thought I could increase my top lip a small amount to create a fuller look and hopefully even out the side that is slightly smaller. I’m hoping this will save me from applying my usual lip liners and lipstick to even and increase the fullness of my lips.
The product Jenny uses is called Emervel it’s Hyaluronic Acid dermal filler. If you’re interested on what Hyaluronic Acid is it’s a naturally occurring sugar that exists in almost every living organisms. It absorbs water and is also important for the transport of nutrients, regulating water balance and giving you volume and structure to your skin. Affects of this treatment are noticeable right away with a small chance of slight swelling/bruising and the results can last up to 12 months. The advantages of Hyaluronic Acid products are they offer long lasting yet reversible and non-permanent results and after your appointment you should be able to carry on your day as usual.
I’ve had a consultation and myself and Jenny have decided on what we are going to do, my appointment is next week. I’m going to do another blog post (with more pictures) about my experience and will add in some before and after pictures of my old and “new lips” so you can all see the difference, I’m hoping you’ll be able to get a good enough idea from my images. So keep your eyes pealed for my mid week post “new lips” Heres a snap of my “old lips”
The price of facial aesthetics varies depending on were you go, the price Jenny gives for the dermal fillers are from £285-500 depending on your individual requirements and starting points and nose to mouth lines per side £285.
To contact Jenny Gifford for any information don’t hesitate she really is so helpful in answering any questions you may have.
