HD Brows – Charley’s Angels review *

This post is all about my HD Brow experience at Charley’s Angels Hair Nails & Beauty in North Devon – Barnstaple. It’s a lovely salon situated in Barnstaple tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the busy streets. The feel of the salon for me is a lovely boutique style, all the team are very welcoming offering refreshment from a menu of; coffee, tea or even a glass of prosecco. One of the main things I noticed when walking in other than the beautiful decor was the amazing smell of the salon, they work with and sell the beautiful Aroma Works the range varies from hand creams, bath bombs to their famous deffuser’s all of their products are made with 100% pure essential oils and all natural ingredients.

So I’ve always wanted HD Brows but being qualified in waxing I’ve always been a little lazy and waxed my own my brows for convenience also topped up with a little bit of  Benefits gimme brow or pencil my brows aren’t a bad shape, so I just assumed that a HD Brow couldn’t do much for me…. Boy was I wrong!

I had my Hd appointment with the owner and master stylist Charley Klein, I had to fill out a medical record treatment card and had a consultation prior to determine the shape and shade of the brows that I wanted to achieve and was asked to browse through a couple of the HD Brow ‘look books’. The way HD Brows work means that you could possibly achieve the perfect HD Brow shape on your first visit, whilst others may need a few treatments and be advised to grow in more eyebrow hairs to get the result they want. For me it was wanting a little more definition and shape so I didn’t have to pencil before applying my usual – Benefit Gimme Brow.

For me there is five main steps to the HD Brow – Tint, Wax, Thread, Tweeze, Trim.
Charley begins by thoroughly tinting all of the brow hairs including the fluffy finer ones around the edge of the brow, this is to make sure she has maximum hair to work with to achieve a fuller/healthier looking brow. Then it’s a wax, waxing both the top and bottom of the brows using the HD Brow guidelines to achieve the famous HD (high-definition) shape. I’ve got to say after having years of waxing this has been one of the best brow wax’s I have had, the wax wasn’t to hot and it was completely pain-free. After the wax has been done Charley then threads and plucks the fluffy hairs to blend in and fine tune my brows. logo
My favourite part is the tweeze and trimming, its rare we trim our brows but its such a huge part in creating the HD brow helping all the hairs lie in the right shape – There is nothing worse than having those crazy long hairs that never seem to lay right! Charley finished by closing my pores and making sure my foundation was perfect after removing a small amount before to make sure the area was clean to work with. She blends the HD foundation in with my own to make sure I have no patchy areas and then adds a small amount of eyebrow pencil or powder (if needed for those who need to fill in any gaps whilst encouraging hair growth from any previous over plucked areas)

Above is my before and after (Just before my treatment and right after) I’m extremely happy with how my brows have transformed on my first appointment I’m already looking forward to going back for my next one! This is a treatment I would recommend to every one with all different types of brows the HD Brow caters to ALL brow types its super amazing and a must try. Ahh I’m hooked!

At the end of the appointment Charley will answer any questions you may have and will also let you know the HD Brow products she has used on you during you’re treatment giving you the chance to then purchase them if you wish. You are given all the correct after care as well as a lovely leaflet with repeated after care and products on the reverse side so you know exactly how to care for your brows after you have had them done. The appointment can last between 45 minutes to an hour.
