This is in collaboration with Boots Uk, Barnstaple. Ad – I was lucky enough to have been invited by the lovely Liz Earle counter manager, Jenna at Boots Uk to spend the morning in their Barnstaple store for a Liz Earle master class and mini facial. We started by talking about my skin type so we could determine which products to use, I would say mine is Normal to Combination. Jenna told me all that Liz Earle has to offer for all skin types and how their “fuss free,” Natural, Botanical; skin, hair and make-up range is a must to try!
I’m always looking for and changing my skin care routine but the one thing I always keep consistent is that I use products to match my skin. It’s so important to work out what your skin type is; Dry, Oily, Normal, Combination because you wouldn’t want to use skin care for Oily Skin on Normal or Combination. You want to get the best out of your skin and by using products to maximize and to keep your skin consistent is so important.
Who and what is Liz Earle –

Mini master class and facial –
Jenna began by spritzing Botanical Essence No.20 Eau de Parfum It has a beautiful sophisticated feminine scent of Demask Rose and Bergamot. We started with one of the most awarded cleansers in the UK and Liz Earles beauty icon – Cleanse and Polish Hot cloth cleanser. This cleanser is rich but gentle, loaded with; Cocoa butter, Eucalyptus and chamomile it will cleanse away any make-up, dirt, pollutants even that stubborn mascara. (How-ever for my ladies with any lash extensions this wouldn’t be suitable due to the oils) I love how it left my skin feeling; clean, balanced and as if I could just wash and go!
Once we cleansed the skin we needed to close the pores, smooth and brighten to prep for the Serum and Moisturiser. Jenna used the Instant Boost Skin Tonic, this non drying and alcohol free skin tonic/toner worked perfectly to refresh and sooth my skin, the scent is beautiful. Inc; Aloe Vera, Rose-scented Geranium and has the added extra of Vitamin E and Calendula. All of the Liz Earle products are Botanical Derived from plants. Jenna actually visited the famous Head Office and Green House at the Isle of White, you can read all about their journey over on their website here –
“Our home: The Green House The Green House is our head office, based in Ryde on the Isle of Wight. We designed this visionary building to include many environmentally-friendly innovations, including geo-thermal heating, which uses the natural heat from the ground to keep us warm (and cool) and a facility to harvest rain water, which is then filtered into our bathrooms to flush our toilets. Movement and sensory timers ensure our lighting automatically turns off when there is no-one in the room, recycled paper is used across the building, and all our kitchen waste is composted on site. Our woodland, located next to The Green House, is being managed as a natural habitat to encourage local flora and fauna.”
We then used the Superskin Face Serum this was my favourite product from the skin care range, Liz Earle say “Slow the ticking, naturally, with our luxurious serum, formulated to visibly even skin tone, firm, lift and plump, while reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles for radiantly youthful-looking skin.” For me this makes it the best all rounder, it will help with slowing down the aging process and help keep your skin looking healthy I’ll be adding this product to my Derma Rolling/Micro Needling routine you can read all about my Micro Needling experience here
We ended the skin care/facial by using the Skin Repair Light Moisturiser – Combination/oily . By using the Superskin Face Serum first it will enhance the benefits of the Skin Repair Light Moisturiser. You can use this morning and night on the face and neck or just on the areas you feel you need it most. It’s such a lovely light and gentle moisturiser with an amazing blend of ingredients; echinacea, avocado oil, hops, and it has borage oil – a rich source of the essential fatty acid. I was so amazed at how non of the skin care left my skin feeling heavy and sticky it soaked into my skin almost instantly leaving a soft and smooth finish!
Jenna finished my treatment by applying some of the Liz Earle make-up, this was some thing I was very interested to try as I actually wasn’t aware that they did make-up! I wanted to have a light dewy look, so we went for the NEW Sheer Skin Tint – SPF 15 in the medium shade, Beige 02. It applied so well and didn’t feel sticky on the skin! I can’t wait to try their foundation, I’ll be popping back to see Jenna to get my skin matched so I can see what I think once I’ve trilied the foundation. We also spoke about how the make-up is also made to be “fuss free” for example you can use the blush and bronze as eye tints. We finished the make-up look with a small amount of blush and bronzer and then powder where needed. I can’t forget the lips I got to try the NEW Superskin Superlip Balm it’s amazing, they’ve used Alaria esculenta extract which naturally plumps the lips and the dragons blood extract, argan oil and shea butter to help protect against dryness the perfect all in one!
I will also be back there this weekend to pick up some of the hair care, with being a hairdresser I was excited to try the hair care range. For me using natural, organic or vegan hair care is extremely Important as there are so many awful chemicals in your cheaper “shop brought” hair products, we all need to be a little more conscious about how and what we use to wash our luscious locks with! I’m going to try the Limited addition – Botanical Shine it’s their summer inspired blend containing geranium oil, citrus oils and vanilla extract an the best part is they cater to all hair types!
I received a beautiful hamper that I’ll be starting to use right away. I will be doing a update post on how I get on and what my thoughts are once I’ve used to products over a period of time.
